Hosted by DJ Tao, who began his career as a spoken word artist in Washington D.C. He has since been performing at countless venues across the east coast. DJ Tao has also released several studio projects featuring his work.

Since 2010, DJ Tao has been hosting open mic nights at Busboys and Poets. Additionally, he hosts an event called “The ‘W’ Word” which is a fundraiser that combines poetry and panel discussions in order to explore ways that white people can be more involved in antiracism. 

On the 1st Thursday of every month, May 5th this month, Busboys and Poets host their open mic night. Taking place from 7 pm until 9 pm. Located at Busboys and Poets, 5331 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD 20781.
